Australia's leading jewellery designers have been prestigiously honoured at the Harper's Bazaar Diamond Guild Australia 2007 Jewellery Awards.
The glittering celebration of the best of Australian jewellery design talent was attended by Alison Veness-McGourty (editor, Harper's Bazaar), The Veronicas, Erika Heynatz (ambassador, Diamond Guild Australia), event MC Lisa Wilkinson and high-profile Australian fashion designers including Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman (Camilla and Marc), Alex Perry, Terry Biviano, Kit Willow and Kirrily Johnston.
"The second Harper's Bazaar Diamond Guild Jewellery Awards celebrates Australia's leading jewellery designers," said Alison Veness-McGourty, editor of Harper’s BAZAAR. "Diamonds are the epitome of luxury and elegance and Harper’s Bazaar is proud to toast the best of Australian jewellery design talent."
"The Harper's Bazaar Diamond Guild Australia 2007 Jewellery Awards are an opportunity to showcase the outstanding innovation and style of Australian designers," said Diamond Guild Australia spokesman Robert Musson.
"Entries have come from both well-established and up-and-coming designers around the country and this prestigious accolade will catapult the winners’ standing in the jewellery industry and with discerning jewellery buyers," added Mr Musson.
The Winners
The winning designers across six key categories were announced as:
- Diamond Earrings Award – Bunda Jewellery (NSW)
- Diamond Solitaire Award – Blennerhasset Fine Jewellers (WA)
- Fancy Diamond Award – Percy Marks (NSW)
- Mens Jewellery Award – Holloway Diamonds (VIC)
- Open Category Award – Gary Thyregod (NSW)
- Pink Diamond Award – Gordon Herford (QLD)
