Berj Ohanessian made his mark as a talented designer and craftsman that boasts an enviable list of clientele, including some of the most renowned jewellery houses in Australia and NZ. In 1984, he launched his boutique jewellery label Berjani, in Sydney.

Zig Zag

The "Zig Zag" earrings are handcrafted in 18ct white gold and set with 3.35cts of brilliant cut diamonds. The inspiration for the design came from Japanese writing styles, in particular Katakana, which he discovered on a trip through Japan a few years ago. Berj was fascinated by the beautiful tapered strokes of the Katakana symbols and he incorporated these strokes in his design of the earrings and then he added movement between each stroke to take it from a 2D symbol and transform it into a flowing piece of jewellery.
